Have you ever wanted to learn more about interactive fiction in all its detail and glory? Are you an enthusiastic attendee of gatherings related to fantasy? Will you happen to be in the Midwest in the near future? If so, come stop by the Holiday Inn Express on Merle Hay Road in Des Moines, Iowa this weekend, April 6th-8th for DemiCon, Des Moines’ annual sci-fi, fantasy and gaming convention!

I’m so excited to be attending as well, for multiple reasons. For one, it’s the first time this event has been able to be held live since before the COVID pandemic. But perhaps more importantly, I will be speaking at two hour-long panels! Saturday at 10 AM I will discuss resources for board game designers, from Protospiel and The Game Crafter to an overview of various strategies for effective game design.

Also, on Sunday at 2 PM I will share my experiences with interactive fiction, discuss a history of the subgenre, enlighten the audience about popular composition tools and tricks, and end with an interactive reading from the first in my series of novels, The Seal of Thomerion!

For more information about how to attend, visit www.demicon.org. It’s sure to be a fun time. Thanks for your interest, and I hope to see you there!
